Training &
Rehabilitation
- Many of
Jaro's rehabilitees come from the disadvantaged strata of
society.
- Jaro has to instil
work discipline in the rehabilitees before training them
with income generating skills.
- Jaro assesses the
rehabilitees and trains them according to their abilities
and aptitudes.
- Training is
done in three workshops - Tailoring, Basketry and Book
Binding under the supervision of Master Craftpersons.
- Jaro produces work of
high quality and design that meets the demands of the
market place.
- The Book Binding
department in particular is known throughout Malaysia and
Singapore and has helped to establish binderies in a
number of Malaysian university libraries, for
example:
- Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru
- Kolej Universiti Teknologi Tun Hussin Onn, Batu Pahat,
