& Sociable Environment
- Having a job enables
the disabled worker to make friends and have a social
life of their own outside the family.
- Jaro provides a caring
sympathetic environment for its rehabilitees. Some
workers have found work outside but prefer to return to
work in Jaro.
- It organises periodic
holiday trips for the rehabilitees - such trips have been
organised to the Cameron Highlands, Sabah and
Sarawak.
- Gifts are presented to
the rehabilitees on the Sultan of Johor's birthday and
angpows on Chinese New Year and Hari Raya.
- Well-wishers provide
lunch treats and dinners on festive occasions.
- Romance has found its
way in too. Two rehablitees couples met in Jaro and are
now married. They show that disabled people also need to
fall in love, to get married and to have a family.
- Additional
Benefits:
- Jaro rehabilitees
are eligible for SOCSO and EPF.
Employment in Jaro makes them eligible for EPC (a Special
Government Pension Allowance for the
Disabled).
